Game of Thrones is over, and in the end, it seems that nobody truly ‘won’. The Iron Throne itself has been melted into nothing by an angry dragon, the true heir to the throne has been banished to the Night’s Watch, the Dragon Queen is dead, and the realm is to be ruled by Bran Stark - the person who didn’t want the throne in the first place. The season finale wrapped up the stories of every major character, and while some were satisfying (especially Brienne and Podrick as Kingsguard, Arya as an explorer, and Sansa as Queen in the North), Grey Worm’s end is one that book readers know as much sadder than it was intended to be - as he and the Unsullied just sailed off to their deaths....

As PlayStation fans are all too aware, the month of February brings with it a batch of new games arriving for free through the system’s PlayStation Plus service. Admittedly, not every month is filled with must-have games for players to enjoy, but the price is right for those that are eager to build up their library. With that said, February 2019’s PlayStation Plus lineup is filled to bursting with awesome titles for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita owners....

The early reactions have arrived for Disney’s animated sequel, Frozen 2. 2019 has already been a massively successful year for the Mouse House at the box office, with no less than five of their movies grossing over $1 billion worldwide. Toy manufacturer Funko is going all-out with their upcoming product previews at the 2018 Toy Fair. In addition to several new licenses for their famous Funko Pop! line, 2018 will see Funko producing traditional action figures based on the Harry Potter series and props based on the upcoming film Ready Player One. Originally founded in 1998, Funko first found mainstream success over a decade ago when the company began manufacturing bobble-heads based on licensed characters....

A partnership with Apple has seen all Gallaudet University students and faculty members receive an iPad Pro, Smart Keyboard Folio and Apple Pencil. The university is a specialist higher education faculty in which all programs are specifically designed to accommodate deaf and hard of hearing students … Apple made the announcement today. The university expressed its appreciation, while Apple said it was an honor to be involved. Gallaudet University has always been a center of advanced learning and teaching approaches....

George R.R. Martin reveals why he turned down the opportunity to follow in Ed Sheeran’s footsteps and make a cameo appearance in Game of Thrones season 8. HBO’s acclaimed fantasy drama, which is based on Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novel series, is set to return in April after over a year on hiatus. Martin meanwhile is supposed to be hard at work writing The Winds of Winter, the next chapter in his very long-running cycle of books....

Instead of someone winning the Iron Throne in Game of Thrones season 8, if Westeros is truly to change and the wheel to be broken, then the best thing would be for the Iron Throne to be destroyed - both literally and figuratively - as it’s a representation of an era that’s close to being left in the past. Despite the fact that winning the Iron Throne has become a defining theme of the show, both Game of Thrones and the A Song of Ice and Fire novel series have painted a picture of a deeply flawed and corrupt political system, in which its symbolic head is Aegon the Conqueror’s throne forged from the swords of his enemies....

Fans missing Game of Thrones can rest easy, as HBO today shared a likely release date for Targaryen prequel series House of the Dragon. The original series went off the air last May, with many fans disappointed by its final season and series finale. However, thanks to strong past seasons and a loyal fan base, many are still eager to revisit that world. In fact, another prequel series for Game of Thrones was also in development....

Author George R.R. Martin reveals new information about the Game of Thrones prequel series, unofficially known as The Long Night. In a recent interview, the franchise creator discussed specific story details, most notably that House Stark will be included, along with House Lannister, albeit with a small caveat. Martin’s Game of Thrones book series is collectively known as A Song of Ice and Fire. He released the first installment in 1996 (A Game of Thrones), and has subsequently released four more novels, with two more yet to be released....

With Apple TV+ and Disney+ both set to launch in November, Netflix seems to be trying a new marketing tactic: free Netflix episodes for non-subscribers… TNW spotted that the streaming service is letting non-subscribers see the first episode of a new series. As the site notes, it’s not the first time free Netflix episodes have been aired. You can access the new section featuring 5 apps and 5 games free for a limited time from iTunes on your Mac or the App Store on your iOS device. As noted on 9to5Toys and the Verge, a group of premium games have free at the iOS App Store this morning....

It’s E3 2016 time, which naturally means cool game-related news and videos are being released seemingly by the hour. One hotly anticipated upcoming title is Friday the 13th: The Game, an interactive adaptation of the popular horror film franchise. Beginning life as a Kickstarter project, F13: The Game blew past its initial funding goals, and is now on target for a fall 2016 release. With the E3 festivities in full swing, developer Gun Media has seen fit to make F13: The Game’s first gameplay footage available to the masses, alternately casting players in the bulky shoes of infamous movie monster Jason Voorhees and one of his would be victims....

Friends is an iconic sitcom, just look at the outcry when Netflix almost lost the rights to it last year. Friends is soon going to actually leave Netflix to move to the new Warner Brothers streaming service known as HBO Max. In the meantime, you should binge-watch Friends to your heart’s content while it remains available to you. The series is all about the relationship between a tight-knit group. One of the cast standouts, Jennifer Aniston, has gone on to have an A-list career but her original character, Rachel Green, is iconic in her own right....

Out of all the Friends, Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow) is the one who stands out the most. She’s funny, quirky and the most supportive member of the group. She is also the only member who gives the great advice. So why don’t they give her the same courtesy? There have been many instances where the gang has let Phoebe down. Sometimes they have failed to be supportive friends and turn up at special events....

Disney+ launched yesterday to much fanfare, but the entire thing risked being overshadowed by the announcement of a Friends reunion being in the works for HBO Max. Disney and WarnerMedia are now two of the big players in the streaming wars, with the latter’s HBO Max set to be a competitor to Disney+ when it goes live next year. There are some obvious battle lines to be drawn between the two - mostly Marvel vs DC - but this is a little more unexpected....

Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman posts a hilarious behind-the-scenes video from the set of Marvel’s highly anticipated film. Similar to Tom Holland’s beloved new take on Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Boseman was introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as T’Challa/Black Panther for the first time in last year’s Captain America: Civil War. That’s no easy task either - finding a way to stand out and prove yourself as an iconic character - when you’re in a film that features appearances from a majority of the MCU’s other, already established heroes....

Some interesting background within Futurama is that the staff writers of the show held 3 Ph.D.s, seven masters degrees, and collectively had more than 50 years of learning at Harvard. Needless to say, they were some pretty intelligent people, and this is pretty helpful when you are writing a show involving science fiction concepts. Futurama is basically a parody of all thing’s science fiction. But science fiction tends to have different ranges in how much it attempts to be accurate....

Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Game of Thrones season 8, episode 1, “Winterfell” The Night King left a grim message in the Game of Thrones season 8 premiere, featuring a spiral design that we’ve seen in the show before. In one of the final scenes of “Winterfell,” Tormund and Beric rendez-vous with Jon’s old friend “Dolorous” Edd Tollett at Last Hearth, the ancestral home of House Umber. Unfortunately, the only Umber they found was young Ned Umber, who was impaled on a wall in the center of a grisly spiral of made of severed limbs....
