Tormund Giantsbane was one of the best characters on Game of Thrones. As the de facto leader of the Free Folk, he was crass, caveman-like, and didn’t mince words. He wasn’t afraid to slice your head off but would also happily clink glasses and share some ale (or, in his case, spoiled milk). And behind his rough exterior was a logically-thinking leader with killer instincts. Despite his barbaric and often gross nature, there was something oddly charming about Tormund....

Game of Thrones season 8, episode 5, “The Bells” appeared to kill off both Jaime and Cersei Lannister - but are they really dead? When it became clear that Daenerys had won the Battle of King’s Landing, the two of them fled down into the deepest depths of the Red Keep, where Tyrion had arranged a way for them to escape, only to find that the crumbling masonry had blocked their exit....

A wild fan theory has suggested that Arya Stark was actually dead in the last two seasons of Game of Thrones. The character, played by Maisie Williams for all eight seasons of the series, played a vital role in the show’s final season. Not only did she kill the Night King, but she was also present for the battle at King’s Landing and served as a street-level perspective for viewers. Here’s why Arya’s death theory has no legs to stand on....

Game of Thrones’ latest episode was - somewhat surprisingly - the best episode of the show in years. “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” doesn’t occupy a significant place in the Game of Thrones episode schedule. It’s not a premiere, it’s not a finale, it’s not the famed penultimate episode of the season. It’s not particularly oversized, nor does it feature paradigm-shifting events the likes of which we saw in “Baelor,” “The Rains of Castamere” and “The Winds of Winter....

Gears 5 was announced at last year’s E3 to much aplomb, but since then it’s been mostly silence on developer The Coalition’s front regarding the latest entry in the Gears of War franchise. However, as we come up on the one-year anniversary of the game’s maiden announcement, it appears that there’s a chance the Gears 5 release date has been inadvertently leaked and that the title will be arriving much sooner than we all think....

Should you watch Gemini Man in high-frame-rate (HFR) and 3D? Ang Lee’s latest technological experiment is ostensibly an old-fashioned thriller starring Will Smith as an assassin hunted by his younger self (also Smith via motion capture), but the real sell is how it’s presented. Gemini Man was made to be viewed in 3D at 120 frames-per-second (fps). 3D is a well-known commodity, but HFR is a less well-established offering. Traditional movies are shot and projected in 24fps, which gives film its long-accepted texture (perhaps best seen in motion blur)....

The long-running sitcom, Fresh Off The Boat, is getting a spinoff. Joining the ranks of Black-ish and The Goldbergs, it is only the latest comedy to get the franchise treatment at ABC. Debuting in 2015, Fresh Off The Boat is centered around the family of Eddie Huang as they make a life-changing shift from Washington DC to Florida in hopes of opening a cowboy-themed restaurant. Set in the mid-90’s, the show explores different struggles: the clash between diverging cultures, the hopes of achieving the American dream, and the difficulties of assimilation....

Disney’s Frozen 2 has officially hit $1 billion at the box office, becoming the sixth film from the Mouse House to do so this year. The highly-anticipated animated sequel saw the return of Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel) as they set out on a quest to uncover the source of Elsa’s power, along with what happened to their parents. The film has already broken a number of records since its release on November 22, including setting a new opening weekend box office record for Disney Animation....

Last year we learned that Nvidia was set to move forward with its plans to acquire chip designer Arm for an estimated $40 billion. However, after the FTC investigated competition concerns around the deal this year, it has filed a lawsuit to block the acquisition. After Nvidia publicly shared it was pursuing the purchase of Arm, we saw Qualcomm and others share objections with the Federal Trade Commission and other commissions around the world....

Oscar-winning costume designer Jenny Beavan is now working on the Gambit movie for 20th Century Fox. The X-Men spinoff film seemed all but dead for much of this year, until a sudden influx of updates this month revealed that the Channing Tatum headlined comic book movie is alive and well. In the span of but two weeks, Gambit both locked down a new director in the form of Gore Verbinski and secured an official 2019 theatrical release date from Fox....

Even though he met his untimely end at the end of the first season, Eddard “Ned” Stark is still one of the most favorite heroes of the HBO epic fantasy show Game of Thrones. Fans liked him because of his honest nature and kindness with which he treated his children - daughters Arya and Sansa, and sons Bran, Rickon, and Robb. And, of course, Jon Snow, whom Ned raised as his own....

Tywin Lannister was one of the most powerful players in the game of thrones. A respected military leader, the Lannister patriarch was considered the true power in Westeros even whilst his grandsons Joffrey and Tommen sat the Iron Throne, winning their wars for them in the battlefield and the Small Council chamber. There is no doubt that Game Of Thrones as we know it would be completely different if Tywin Lannister had lived....

WARNING: This post contains spoilers for season 8. So much went down on Game of Thrones during episode 3 of season 8, and we are still recovering while we remain in utter shock. The Night King was killed, (go Arya)!, and a handful of beloved characters died in the Battle of Winterfell. The episode titled “The Long Night” is so incredible that if this were the last episode of the series, fans of the epic HBO saga would feel satisfied....

Game of Thrones is certainly a show that loves to include dramatic twists - from the first season when HBO shocked audiences by killing off what appeared to be the main character (Ned Stark), to the reveal that Littlefinger poisoned the Hand of the King Jon Arryn, to Varys’ secret support of Daenerys… the list goes on, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop growing in the final season....

Game of Thrones is famous for its venomous, cunning, and Machiavellian characters. No family is more known for these traits than the Lannisters. House Lannister was behind the murder of the honorable Ned Stark, the brutal Red Wedding, and the extinction of House Tyrell. In other words, the Lannisters have been behind some of the most entertaining and shocking elements of Game of Thrones. Their scheming has helped make the show the legendary series it is today....

“Winter is coming,” has long been the slogan of House Stark, and fans will finally see these words come to full fruition after Game of Thrones final season later this year. The Starks have been the family to root for since the very beginning; with their noble sense of honor and proud history, they have quite a bit going for them, and fans have become invested in the family’s survival. Given their positions as Warden/King of the North though, one might be mistaken in thinking that they’re all the same....

The new trailer for Will Smith’s Gemini Man (seriously) features a song by Jaden Smith. Directed by Academy Award winner Ang Lee, Gemini Man stars the elder Smith as Henry Brogen, an aging assassin who finds himself hunted by a younger clone of himself, dubbed Junior (also played by Will Smith). Always one to push the boundaries of moviemaking technology, Lee and his team incorporated state-of-the-art visual effects to make Will Smith appear younger so he could portray both characters....

The new featurette for Gemini Man explores the groundbreaking visual effects used to create a young Will Smith in Ang Lee’s upcoming sci-fi film. Over the course of his long and decorated career, Lee has never been afraid to explore a different genre, nor push the art of filmmaking in new and exciting directions. Not all of his experiments have been a success of course (see Hulk, Bill Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk), but even his “misfires” are quite fascinating and, in some ways, more interesting than other directors’ less ambitious hits....
