Like many other classic horror movies from the 70s and 80s, Friday the 13th had its share of production blunders, including being unable to cast the role of Pamela Voorhees. Because the role was so vital to the film, given that Pamela Voorhees was Friday the 13th’s original killer, it’s surprising that director Sean S. Cunningham took so long to cast the role. Eventually, Cunningham found Betsy Palmer, who stepped up to the role and became known for it, despite her initial thoughts that nobody would go out and see the film....

We’re not new to the wild and complex relationship that is Ross and Rachel, right? Well, for all Friends fans, it might be difficult to keep track of all the wonderful and terrible things these two do to each other. While it’s more than obvious that these two actually do some pretty selfless and amazing things for each other, they also have some pretty petty moments. Basically anything popular is up for a film adaptation these days, from Troll dolls to morally ambiguous manga. Studios are eager to run with what works, and that means pulling scripts from some unpredictable sources – including mobile games. For instance, some were surprised to learn that Angry Birds was due to hit big screens, but its success as a video game made for an equally successful run at the box office (despite so-so critical reception)....

But as comic fans know, the heroes who make up Marvel’s chief super team are on a near-constant rotation - and given the fallout of Captain America: Civil War, the movie is soon to follow suit....

With just four episodes left in its first season, the TV adaptation/continuation of What We Do in the Shadows gets a season 2 renewal from FX. Long in development, the pseudo-sequel to Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement’s 2014 mockumentary of the same name finally premiered on the cable network in late March, earning positive reviews for the writing and the cast, which includes, Matt Berry (The IT Crowd), Kayvan Novak (Four Lions), Natalie Demetriou (Sick Note), and Beanie Feldstein (Booksmart)....

There were a lot of big deaths on Game of Thrones, but nothing quite satisfying as when King Joffrey was poisoned at his own wedding. Joffrey was a cruel king, a spoiled brat, and the person responsible for the death of Ned Stark as well as the mistreatment of several of the most beloved characters on the show. With so many key characters being killed on the show, it’s easy to overlook the impact of Joffrey’s death had going forward....

From the Youtube Movies site, click the down arrow on Categories and click Free Movies. Either Google is diving head-on into the Nigerian Porn business or the engineering geeks at YouTube didn’t bother to check its algorithm recently. Right at the top of the Free Listings is Mad Sex 2, BlackBerry Babes (Hmm… a tech movie?) and Naked Girls. All available for any user on YouTube. Parents won’t appreciate Google making it so easy for kids to get their hands on this stuff — not that one can’t find plenty of porn out there on the Internet....

Friends’ Joey’s character was great for a lot of reasons. He was incredibly loyal, funny, and always ready to defend the people he cared about. Although he had a lot of admirable qualities, there were very few moments of character growth. Joey’s relationships, career, and overall perspectives didn’t seem to progress much throughout the show, especially compared to the rest of the characters. Chandler got over his fear of commitment, Monica learned to pretend to be less controlling, Rachel became more independent, Phoebe learned not to stab cops even if they stabbed her first....

The FTC is seeking information that was not reported to the antitrust agencies under the Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) Act. The investigation covers all transactions that each company completed between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2019. That window includes Apple’s $3 billion acquisition of Beats that was completed in 2014, as well as Facebook’s acquisition of Instagram. The purpose of the investigation is to help the FTC “deepen its understanding” of the acquisition strategy of companies like Apple....

Futurama was a fan favorite series while it aired, and even years after the series concluded, fans still obsess about it. And with good reason – the characters and plots captivated us, presenting us with humor and so much more. With a series as complex as Futurama, it should probably come as no surprise to hear that there are a few loose ends still hanging. While there’s nothing wrong with that (not automatically, at least) we would’ve loved to see where these threads led....

The X-Men universe is in the midst of a renewed push to expand the universe beyond just the main team and Wolverine. This effort truly began when Deadpool was given his own film, and now there’s both a Deadpool sequel and spinoff in X-Force, in the works. With Logan sending off Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine next month, 20th Century Fox has another actor/character waiting for his own solo film: Gambit. Channing Tatum has been attached to star in Gambit for the past few years, but the project continues to struggle to make its way out of pre-production....

Game of Thrones could have been greatly different if the series’ creators had cast someone other than Kit Harington in the role of Jon Snow. The curly-haired and doe-eyed character instantly won over the hearts of viewers and served as a fan favorite for much of the series. Due to Jon’s prominence at the center of the HBO fantasy, Harington evolved into one of the faces of the series; however, a handful of other actors tried their hand at portraying the character, and the show may have looked very different if someone else had been cast as the Bastard of Winterfell....

Producer Andrew Form is committed to working on a new Friday The 13th. Friday The 13th began life as a low budget shocker from producer Sean S. Cunningham, who was inspired by the surprise success of 1978’s Halloween. The original movie featured teen camp counsellors being bumped off one by one by an unseen killer, who is revealed in the finale to be Pamela Voorhees, the vengeful mother of Jason, who drowned in the lake years before....

Many shows that were made decades, or even a decade or so ago, often look outdated upon rewatching. While no piece of media is perfect, there were jokes that used to be seen as acceptable that now are not. Friends is a show from the ’90s and early 2000s that became popular again when it became available on Netflix. Many people watching through again and binging the whole series have realized there were many jokes that might have seemed funny at the time that are now just cringey or uncomfortable....

Disney’s Frozen 2 has received mixed reviews, but the box office results mean there’s still plenty of reason for Disney to make Frozen 3. For Frozen 2, screenwriter Jennifer Lee once again co-directed with Chris Buck, using the sequel to open up the characters’ horizons to lands beyond Arendelle. Frozen 2 mostly focuses on the relationship between the main Arendelle protagonists and the Northuldra tribe. Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel) feels drawn to the north after hearing voices, and sets forth with sister Anna (Kristen Bell), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), reindeer Sven, and the snowman Olaf (Josh Gad)....

HBO Max has gotten a trailer teasing its library of content. Having sat on the sidelines up to this point, HBO will officially join the streaming wars when it launches its HBO Max service in May. In a bid to rival its competitors (especially Netflix and Disney+), the streamer will include exclusive access to extremely popular (but no longer running) sitcoms like Friends and The Big Bang Theory, in addition to comparatively niche series like Doctor Who and The Boondocks, and the wealth of older movies WarnerMedia already owns the rights to....

Those at Winterfell mourn the dead and prepare for the final battle to come in photos from Game of Thrones season 8, episode 4. The show delivered the long-anticipated Battle of Winterfell in last week’s “The Long Night”, pitting the Night King and his army of white walkers and wights against those still alive in the North and Danerys Targaryen’s forces. It was a pretty bloody showdown altogether (the parts you could see, anyway), with several characters getting killed and, in some cases, even briefly joining the Army of the Dead....
