Every great sitcom tends to have a ‘hub’ where the characters will spend the majority of their time on the show, and for Friends, that location was Central Perk. The coffee shop played host to many a classic moment, from Ross and Rachel’s iconic kiss all the way to Phoebe blaring out “Smelly Cat.” The gang always had their sofa and chair situation sorted, with the giant-sized mugs and a red-hot coffee ready to drink....

Over the weekend I got my hands on Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip smartphone. It doesn’t possess the type of flagship specs found on the recently revealed Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, but to me, it’s by far the more interesting phone, thanks to its ability to fold a 6.7-inch AMOLED display into a clamshell form factor that’s much more portable. The future of the X-Men franchise is looking bright. Series vet Hugh Jackman may be hanging up the Wolverine claws in March with Logan, but there’s a lot of mutant goodness on the way. The French anti-trust body, the Autorite de la Concurrence, has carried out searches of Apple’s offices, wholesalers and retailers in a search for evidence into alleged anti-competitive practices by the company, reports the Les Echos newspaper (via the WSJ). The report was light on detail, but likely relates to claims that Apple obliged retailers to buy iPhones in large quantities and to promote them heavily as a condition of stocking the phone....

Hundreds of iOS developers have been working with Apple in secret Cupertino-based sessions on apps for the Apple Watch, and now we’ve learned that this list includes game developers. According to two sources, multiple “mass market, casual” game developers have been in the running to show off light games on stage during Monday’s “Spring Forward” event in San Francisco. While Apple could end up not showcasing games next week, we’re still told that they are championing the idea of light weight gaming on the Apple Watch....

Readers of the Game of Thrones season 8 scripts have discovered that a key scene between Theon Greyjoy and his sister Yara was cut, robbing the character of his redemption arc. Theon, played by Alfie Allen, was portrayed as a cowardly figure for much of the series, especially when it came to his disloyalty to House Stark. He redeemed himself a bit when he saved Sansa Stark from Ramsay Bolton, but he returned to his spineless ways soon after, abandoning his sister Yara after she is captured in season 7 episode 2....

Who doesn’t love quirky, cute Phoebe Buffay? Sure, she’s got a dark side, but she’s the hippy vegetarian of the Friends crew, and her wacky ways are just plain charming, most of the time. From Dusk Till Dawn was Quentin Tarantino’s first paid writing gig and at one point it was earmarked to be the second Tales From The Crypt film, following 1995’s Demon Knight. It’s too bad the showrunners made her do a 180-degree tantrum which barbecued millions of Westerosi. Despite this, Daenerys is still one of the most cosplayed characters in Game of Thrones....
