The immense success of the smash hit Friends has a lot to do with its characters. The way they grow and develop over the series, as individuals and as a group, a substantial attributing factor as to what made them so iconic. So too, though, has the dynamics between these characters. From the primary six to supporting characters, the relationships between characters had highs and lows. A lot of these lows in the show come from arguments and feuds....
An empty apartment, six keys left on the front counter, Ross and Rachel finally made up, Monica and Chandler had twin babies, Joey’s acting career took off, and Phoebe married the man of her dreams. Friends gave us 10 seasons of worthwhile comedy, emotion, and so much perspective. Yet, in the end, we felt certain plots could have been better catered to. We have a love-hate relationship with the writers for making our wishes come true and for missing out on some plotlines....
When it comes to supporting characters they don’t come much better than Gunther from Friends. The Central Perk manager is a consistent character who appears frequently on the show whenever the group are hanging out in the coffee shop. Whether it be his undying love for Rachel or his hatred for Ross, Gunther is always able to bring some funny moments to the show. He might not get tons of focus in terms of actual character development, but he adds a lot to the show....
